Prices seen in October 2026, varying with date and package; several listings show slightly different figures depending on the page viewed. Ratings seen: 4.8 (Hürrem Sultan and Cağaloğlu), 4.6 (Ottoman hammam, about 40 reviews), 4.6 from more than 4,000 reviews (private bath in the Old City).

Hürrem Sultan hammam

The bath built by Sinan in the 16th century between Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque is the most photogenic in the Old City. The listing offers packages of 45 to 110 minutes in a private room: scrub, foam wash, aromatherapy massage and a homemade sherbet at the end. Our reading shows a 4.8 rating from about 570 reviews and a price from about $125. One traveler reports that the setting was less private than expected, with a top to remove in front of the people on your booking: ask what applies to your package. See the listing.

Cağaloğlu hammam

The last great Ottoman hammam, completed in 1741, described on our Cağaloğlu hammam page. The partner listing offers skip-the-line entry and packages of 45 to 135 minutes, rated 4.8 (over 600 reviews; the count varies by page). As a benchmark, the hammam's own price list starts at €95 for about 45 minutes: the platform costs a little more than booking direct for a similar package, in exchange for a confirmed slot and free cancellation according to our reading. A few travelers find the massage short for the announced duration and the atmosphere close to a spa. See the listing.

Ottoman hammam and massage

A four-tier offer from an operator that also resells sightseeing passes. The traditional package is seen at about $70 and the Deluxe at about $122, with sauna, scrub, mud mask, a 50-minute oil massage, reflexology and face and hand care. Transfer from some central hotels is included, but a traveler whose hotel was outside the zone paid for their own ride. Rated 4.6 from about forty reviews; one review finds the premises a little dated. See the listing.

Luxury hammam, massage and sauna

About 90 minutes from about $53, in an establishment that only accepts women and couples: single men cannot book. The hammam is private, but the massage is only included in some packages and the pool and sauna are shared. We did not see a rating: check it on the listing. See the listing.

Private Turkish bath, massage and spa

This is Istanbul's best-selling hammam offer on the platform: €45 in the official ranking, rated 4.6 from more than 4,000 reviews. It lasts 50 to 125 minutes depending on the option, with scrub, foam and a massage whose length depends on the package chosen, and hotel transfer is included. Some travelers find the session shorter than advertised: compare the massage length of each option before paying. See the listing.

What is not included and the pitfalls

  • The massage: it is only included in some packages, and its real length is the first complaint in reviews. Read the "massage" line of the option you choose.
  • "Private" does not mean the same thing everywhere: private room, private cubicle or a section reserved for your group. If modesty matters, write to the operator before booking.
  • Access conditions: some rooms refuse single men, and historic hammams have separate sections for women and men. Our guide to the best hammams details each set of rules.
  • The transfer: it only covers certain hotels; check yours.
  • The tip: it stays optional and is given in cash, see money, cards and tipping.
  • Massages added on the spot: decline anything offered without a stated price, as our guide to scams in Istanbul reminds.
  • Health: the hot room is not advised for pregnant women or people with heart conditions or high blood pressure.

Booking at the best time

Book ahead for an evening or a weekend, and keep the hammam for the end of a day of walking in Sultanahmet or for a rainy day: see what to do in Istanbul when it rains. Avoid going after a heavy meal or alcohol.
