Palace and sunset yacht cruise

The most complete package: the palace visit, then a yacht outing on the Bosphorus. It lasts about 5 hours and costs about $105, with few reviews (4.8 from about ten): read the listing's details and the departure time. If the cruise alone interests you, see our comparison of the Bosphorus sunset cruise. See the listing.

Admission and guided tour

A visit of about an hour with a live guide in English, from around $40. The ratings read on the different versions of the listing vary, from 4.3 to 4.9: we do not quote a figure. One traveler writes that the entrance ticket was not included and was paid to the guide on site; check the "included" line before booking. See the listing.

Guided tour with tickets

Another guided visit whose title announces the tickets. We did not see its price or rating: compare it with the previous offer on your date. See the listing.

Palace and harem: fast-track and audio guide

The palace's best-selling ticket: €44.49, rated 4.7 from more than 2,600 reviews, valid all day, with the harem and an audio guide. It skips the ticket-office queue; it does not exempt you from the security check, which can take up to half an hour in high season. See the listing.

Palace and harem: fast-track entry and audio guide

A very similar ticket at the same €44.49, rated 4.7 from more than 1,400 reviews. Choose one or the other depending on the slot available on your date. See the listing.

What is not included and the pitfalls

  • The official ticket: our page quotes 2,000 TL for foreign visitors (Selamlık, harem and Painting Museum). An online offer adds the fast track and the audio guide; compare on your date.
  • The security check: the fast track does not remove it.
  • Monday: the palace is closed, so no ticket applies.
  • The audio guide: some tickets ask for an ID as a deposit, returned on exit.
  • Photos: they are restricted inside.
  • Taxis outside the palace: one traveler reports being overcharged; prefer tram T1 to Kabataş, see getting around Istanbul.
  • The Museum Pass: it does not cover the Selamlık; see the museum pass.

Booking at the best time

Come on a weekday at opening time, before the groups, and allow time for the garden and the waterfront: see around Dolmabahçe Palace and the Beşiktaş district. For more ideas on queues, see avoiding queues in Istanbul.
