Çamlıca Tower: tickets, opening hours and the view of Istanbul from the Asian side

Updated on October 4, 2026

At 369 m, the Çamlıca Tower (Çamlıca Kulesi) rises on Küçük Çamlıca hill in the Üsküdar district, on the Asian side: it is the tallest structure in Istanbul. Inaugurated in May 2021 and designed by Melike Altınışık Architects, with the tulip as its inspiration, it works as a radio and television tower and offers the public observation decks on the 33rd and 34th floors, as well as a restaurant. From the top, the view takes in the Bosphorus, the historic peninsula, the Princes' Islands and, on a clear day, much of the metropolis. The adult ticket shown on the official site costs 390 TL (prices checked in October 2026). Allow an hour to an hour and a half on site, not counting the queue. It is far from the centre: plan half a day with the journey, and pair it with the Grand Çamlıca Mosque on the neighbouring hill.

Highlights

The tower's silhouette

The tower's silhouette

From the Galata Tower you can pick out its slender spire above the hill on the Asian shore, several kilometres away: a good way to see why the view from the top is so wide.

The observation decks

The observation decks

On the 33rd and 34th floors, about 370 m above sea level, the decks let you look all the way round the horizon: the Bosphorus and its bridges, the historic peninsula with its minarets, the European shore and, on the other side, the Sea of Marmara.

Sunset

Seen from the Asian side, the city stands out against the light and slowly switches on its lamps: this is the most sought-after moment, and so the busiest.

The restaurant

A restaurant is housed in the tower; the official site gives a phone number for bookings (+90 216 440 40 40). Check the hours and the menu before you go.

Tips

The official site (camlicakule.istanbul) lists 390 TL for an adult, 170 TL at the reduced rate (students under 25, over-65s, disabled visitors, veterans and their companions) and free entry for ages 0 to 6; prices checked in October 2026. Several online resellers sell the same ticket for more, in euros, and some show a separate rate for foreign visitors: compare before you buy and keep the official price as your reference. The official site does not publish opening days or hours: resellers give 10am to 10pm, but confirm by phone (+90 216 912 34 00) or by e-mail ([email protected]) before setting out, especially on a Monday. Nothing indicates that the Museum Pass Istanbul is accepted: do not count on it. Pick a clear day: in haze, visibility drops fast.

How to get there

Küçük Çamlıca Mahallesi, Çilehane Caddesi, Oyma Sokak No: 1, Üsküdar, Istanbul. The official site lists metro M4, Marmaray, buses 129T, 34AZ and 34Z and dolmuş D-36 and D-61. From Sultanahmet, the most common route combines tram T1 to Eminönü, the ferry to Üsküdar, then a bus or taxi for the final climb. Check the route on a transport app before you leave, as bus lines change; our guide to getting around Istanbul explains the Istanbulkart.

Opening hours

Idéal : An hour before sunset
Daily 10:00-22:00 (hours given by resellers, not published by the official site; confirm before your visit)
