Who is it for?
A luxury stay on the Bosphorus. The former-palace hotels. A visitor to Dolmabahçe Palace. The palace is on foot: see the Dolmabahçe tickets. Middle budget. The Radisson Blu Bosphorus; for cheaper, look at Taksim or Kadıköy. Beware: the Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus sometimes appears as "Çırağan Hotel Bosphorus" on booking sites, so check the address.
Transport, noise, safety
The ferry leaves from the Beşiktaş pier; the T1 tram stops at Kabataş, a short distance away. The waterfront is lively in the evening, especially around the fish restaurants and Ortaköy; Bosphorus-side rooms are noisier. The area is busy by day and night; stay alert in crowds.
Which hotel to choose?
- Best price in the area: the Radisson Blu Bosphorus.
- Design and nightlife: the W Istanbul Akaretler.
- Palace on the water: the Çırağan Palace Kempinski.
