Why stay in Kadıköy
The advantages. Market, local restaurants, bars and the Moda promenade, at often gentler prices. The limits. The big monuments are on the other side: allow 20 to 30 minutes by ferry from Eminönü or Karaköy, and a bit more coming back in the evening. See Kadıköy and Moda.
Transport, noise, safety
Ferries leave Kadıköy pier all day. The M4 metro links Kadıköy to Sabiha Gökçen airport: see Sabiha Gökçen to the centre. The pedestrian streets are lively in the evening: ask for a courtyard room. The district is lively and familiar to locals; usual precautions are enough.

- Small budget: the Melek Hotels Moda or the Dila Hotel.
- Charm: the Kuzen Otel, close to the pier.
- Seafront: the Riva's Moda.
