Getting to Uludağ from Istanbul
- Road and ferry: Bursa is about 2 h 30 from Istanbul by car depending on traffic (the trip may include a ferry across the Sea of Marmara); see Bursa from Istanbul.
- Cable car: from Bursa, a modern cable car goes straight up to the ski area. It may stop in strong wind or for maintenance: check before you set off.
- Car: a rental lets you drive up to the resort; chains or snow tyres may be compulsory in winter, see renting a car in Istanbul.
How much does a ski day cost?
The only data we found for 2025-2026: a one-day lift pass at 1,700 TL online and 1,950 TL at the window, two days at 3,200 TL and 3,600 TL, and a season pass at 19,500 TL. These prices are in Turkish lira, which loses value quickly, and do not cover equipment rental or lessons. The 2026-2027 prices were not yet published in the sources we consulted.
A night on site or a day trip?
A round trip from Istanbul in one day means about 5 hours of road before the ascent. A night in Uludağ or Bursa gives more time on the slopes. Resort hotels cost more at weekends.
No skiing? The Bursa and Uludağ day trip
If you do not ski or just want to see snow, a day trip from Istanbul combines the city of Bursa, a lunch and the Uludağ cable car (optional depending on the option); this is the offer in the box on this page. It is not a ski holiday: this trip includes no lift pass or equipment rental, to be checked on the listing, which changes by season.
When to come
January and February are the most reliable months for snow; December and March depend on the year. Avoid weekends if you hate crowds. For other winter ideas in Istanbul, see Istanbul in winter.
