Istanbul Toy Museum (Göztepe): opening hours and visit

Updated on October 4, 2026

The Istanbul Toy Museum (İstanbul Oyuncak Müzesi), in Göztepe on the Asian side, was founded by the poet Sunay Akın. It occupies a former five-storey mansion where dolls, trains, cars and antique toys from many countries are staged in settings that appeal to children and adults alike. The museum also has interactive areas devoted to space and trains, among other themes. It is closed on Mondays; allow an hour and a half to two hours.

Tips

For foreign visitors, a ticket costs 420 TL, or 360 TL for children aged 3 and over and students; entry is free under 3 (prices noted in October 2026; the official website does not publish a price list on its home page, so check by phone on +90 216 359 45 50 or on site). The museum is far from the historic centre: combine it with a ferry crossing and a walk on the Asian side, see Kadıköy and the Asian side.
